It’s January…..it sucks…..you’ve lost the will to live. STOP RIGHT THERE. If that’s your attitude in this bleak and miserable month, then no wonder you’re not getting anything done. Jan may not be fun but it’s the perfect time to turn over a new leaf and get back to being fit and healthy. Not only will throwing yourself back into a good regime give you a head start on that summer beach bod but it will make you feel so much better. If you’re not a natural at this, help is at hand. Here we have 3 serotonin recipes to inspire a happier, healthier you. These 3 serotonin recipes will cover you from morning ‘til night…
Breakfast: Serotonin Smoothie
The quickest way to give yourself an instant mood boost is to rustle up a special serotonin smoothie (which includes raspberries, blueberries, banana, hemp seeds and chia seeds). This can be done in seconds so it’s the perfect breakfast meal; and bursting with delicious berries and healthy seeds (which contain all the healthy fats you need to improve brain function), it will taste scrumptious. See the FULL RECIPE HERE.

Lunch: Turkey, Avocado & Spinach Salad
Spinach is rich in serotonin so using it as a base to your salad is a must; adding a healthy fat like avocado will help you raise your dopamine levels and adding a lean meat like turkey will help to boost your tryptophan (a chemical essential in helping you stay positive). Toss your salad in a zesty dressing and it will give you the kick you need to keep you smiling all day.

Dinner: Salmon with Poached Egg
Salmon and eggs are both great foods to boost your blood plasma levels of tryptophan. Combine the both for a double dosage of this feel-good chemical which turns into serotonin inside your brain. Steam your salmon with lemon zest and garlic, serve on a bed of spiralized ‘courgetti’ and top off with a runny poached egg. Yum.

Don’t forget to get active at the gym too, as exercise will also help to boost your serotonin levels! Check out our BRAND NEW Fitness Range online now.
