How to survive January... How to survive January...

January – New Year New You, New Year Resolutions, Diets, Health Kick… blar blar blar! January is probably the hardest time of the year for most people – after being off for a few weeks, people are back at work, having no sugar, eating healthy and going to gym! How depressing does that sound! :(  Unfortunately, we don’t have a giant January survival pill to make it all go away. But we do have a handy little kit to help ease the pain through out this tough month. Here’s the South Beach January Survival Kit – everything you need to feel better after the Christmas & New Year’s celebrations!

Coffee

Nothing will wake you up better than a hot pot of coffee. If you need a quick hit of energy, try a double espresso shot or a tasty flat white.  Try to reduce the amount milk you have and have no sugar – after all one step at a time is better than cutting everything out all together!

Slipper Socks

Sensitivity to hot and cold can be a bit of a downer when you’re feeling low. If you get cold easily, make sure you warm up with some cute and cosy slipper socks. Like these adorable 3D Novelty Animal Knitted Slipper Socks or White Unicorn slippers which will keep your tootsies toasty all day and night when you get home!

Fruit and Veg

They are a good source of vitamins and minerals, including folate, vitamin C and potassium. They're an excellent source of dietary fibre, which can help to maintain a healthy gut. Its also a nice refreshing change after all the rich food and chocolate from the past few weeks.  Try mixing fruit and veg up in a smoothie in replacement for a dessert - add some protein powder in if you've been to the gym too, My Protein have a discount on at the moment, our fave is  Chocolate Peanut Butter! Remember not too much Fruit though – although fruit sounds healthy it still has natural sugars in.

Onesie

All we want to do on a cold night is curl up and watch a favourite series or film. If you’re planning on spending the night on the sofa, get yourself tucked up in this pretty Pink Supersoft Fleece Hooded Onesie

Water

If you find yourself incessantly thirsty, nothing beats good old H20.  You should drink around 8-ounce glasses a day, which equals about 2 liters – to clear out your body safetly.  But if you want to rehydrate like a pro, opt for some antioxidant-rich coconut water for the ultimate replenishment.

Sunglasses

Need to step out early – and no time for makeup? Don’t leave home without your shades if your January blues is causing an adversity to sunlight. These Auckland Oversized Sunglasses look great all year round and will cover all manner of sins.

Book a Summer Holiday

Nothing makes you feel better than a goal – so book your Summer holiday, start counting down the weeks and start looking for some new Swimwear!  You’ll be in a great mood within minutes and have plenty of time to save up too!
