There are a number of factors to consider when choosing your perfect swimwear. You can choose between different styles, shapes and sizes to give you the best possible look, but another consideration is colour. The importance of your choice of colour is sometimes overlooked, but a good choice will give you a flattering look for beach confidence.

Colour is a good way to draw attention to your best features, and in turn, bring the attention away from your less confident areas. Most bikinis are available as separate top and bottom pieces, allowing you to mix and match to find what suits you best. For example, if you have a large chest, a bold colour such as hot pink on your bottom half will help to bring the eye away from the chest area and make the body seem more in proportion. Alternatively, if your chest is your best feature, a solid block of colour on the bottom with a pattern on the top will catch the eye.

You should also consider your skin tone when selecting the best colour. While solid blocks of bold, bright colours can be striking and help to bring attention to certain features of your body, this may not be suited to every skin colour. Sorbets and pastels will work well with dark skin, such as a baby pink or mint green. This can look particularly good in a one piece swimsuit with some ruffles or frills in the area you would like to draw attention to. Lighter brown skin is well matched with slightly darker colours such as olive green or burnt orange. You could also try black; a black triangular bikini can be very flattering on a slim figure if you have the right skin tone. If you have pale skin, deeper colours such as crimson are a good match, while white and yellow are great for showing off your new tan as the holiday progresses.

Without thinking carefully about which colours are best for you, you may end up with something that does not flatter your body type and skin tone. To give you the best possible confidence for tanning on the beach, give yourself plenty of time when shopping to avoid the mad rush panic buy just days before your holiday begins. Holidays are a relaxing time to be enjoyed, so knowing that you have the perfect bikini to make you feel good on the beach means you can be free of swimwear stress and ready to start your holiday in style.
