Retro Styles For The Beach

When shopping for outfits to wear at the beach, there are so many styles, colours and patterns to choose from, with each season bringing a new must-have. To stay trendy for more than one season, try some retro-inspired swimwear. There are a range of flattering styles that will suit different body shapes to make every woman feel great on the beach.
A popular example is the swim dress. This is a one piece with a small skirt to offer more coverage around the top of the legs. These can be strapless to avoid tan lines around the top of the back or chest, but a halter neck style gives the look a more vintage feel. For the best of both, look for a piece with detachable straps to give you more support when walking around the beach or going for a dip in the sea, but they can then be removed for an even tan when sunbathing.
If you would prefer a two piece, many are sold separately so you can mix and match styles. For the top half, a lot are focussed on bust support, including the halter neck pieces and fuller cups. Underwiring is also good for giving a maximum level of support, making this a popular choice among bustier women. Depending on your budget, you may like to use a company that offers chest measurements to fit your individual requirements to a specific top half of a bikini. This does not have to be a bespoke piece, and some companies will even offer a free fitting as part of the service, but you may find that it is worth paying that little bit more to find your perfect fashion swimwear.
The bottom half of the bikini tends to be slightly easier to buy in terms of size, but you will find that there are still numerous styles. The high-waisted shorts style is a flattering vintage look that suits fuller figures and is great for tummy control. You can also find the skirt style, similar to that of the swim dress, which means coverage of the top of the legs is also available if this is a less confident area.
As well as choosing a flattering style, there are also cute patterns that add to the overall retro look. Polka dots or sailor style stripes are always trendy and stylish, while gingham and plaid pieces can be used on one half of the bikini with a plain matching colour for the other half. With so many styles available, it shouldn’t be difficult to find your perfect retro look for the beach.
